E-Safety is a crucial part of keeping our children safe at St. Benedict’s and at home. The internet is constantly evolving and hosts many exciting opportunities for our young people. Equally, there are also risks and dangers.
As a school we continue to encourage the use of the internet as it plays a vital part of the pupils development, but we want them to spend their time online being safe and responsible. In school, we have extensive security measures in place, which are monitored both internally and externally, to help safeguard pupils from potential dangers or unsuitable material.
E-Safety is taught to all pupils explaining and demonstrating various ways to stay safe and behave appropriately online. Keeping children safe online is a joint responsibility and it is crucial that we work together to ensure the E-Safety message is consistent. It is just as important to be involved in your children’s’ life online, than it is offline. Just as you would ask about their friends at school or the clubs they go to, you should use this approach with the people they meet online – ask the same questions and show the same interest.
